Our hotel serves as an excellent venue for civil ceremonies, offering suitable reception rooms to create the desired atmosphere for your marriage. Our beautiful gardens also provide a perfect backdrop for capturing memorable photographs.
The civil wedding ceremony holds a central place on your wedding day. Guests can gather in the hotel lobby or on the lawn, preparing for the ceremony. Depending on the number of guests, we have several options for hosting your civil ceremony within the hotel. Our recommended locations are the Rathlin Suite or the Boardroom, both situated in the original hotel building and boasting character that complements the ceremony.

Your Malahide wedding was a resounding success. Guests stayed overnight at the Grand Hotel and enjoyed a relaxed gathering the next day. We can arrange a family get-together at the Coast restaurant or Matt Ryan Bar to extend your wedding day. Weather permitting, a BBQ on the lawn with beautiful views of the Malahide Estuary and Marina is an option. Guests often explore the local area, including Malahide Village, Castle, and coastal walks. There are also unique boutiques and shops for retail therapy. These activities are conveniently located near the hotel. More information is available on our “things to do” page.
The Griffon Bar reflects the grandeur of the original 1845 building. This bar is opened for Drinks Receptions, Wedding Arrivals and other special occasions.
On other days, Hotel residents can enjoy a late drink in its cosy atmosphere.
The Tara Suite is our premier Wedding banquet room. After your guests have been greeted at the front door of the 1835 Hotel building, they will later be escorted to the Tara Suite for the Main Event.
The Tara Suite is a spacious room overlooking Malahide Estuary. It is decorated in a contemporary style and with its own bar, lobby, lift and other facilities, it is a beautifully private space

When you first start to research your perfect Wedding location, you will have many questions for us. Below are the answers to some of those we most frequently receive, the answers here are brief and we are always available to elaborate and expand the information. We are Wedding Specialists and there’s pretty nothing we have not been asked or able to answer!
Our main Wedding Suite is the Tara Suite. It has a capacity from 100 to 200. We would not put in less than 100 as it would not suit the room and we do not exceed 200 as we want everyone to have plenty of space. Remember that when the room is reset after the meal to allow access to the Dance Floor, we want to ensure there is still plenty of room for everyone.
We also host Weddings in the Coast Restaurant and O’Carolan Suite – but only if there is no Wedding in the Tara Suite – we only do one Wedding per day. These venues specialised in smaller intimate Weddings.
