Check-in at The Grand Hotel is from 3:00pm. Our team will be ready to welcome you and ensure your room is prepared to the highest standard upon your arrival.
Does The Grand Hotel accommodate early check-in?
We are unable to guarantee early check-in, as availability depends on occupancy levels from the previous evening. If your room is ready upon arrival, we will be delighted to check you in straight away. If not, our team is happy to store your luggage securely so you can enjoy Malahide while you wait. If you expect to arrive before 3:00pm, please let our reservations team know in advance on +353 1 845 0000 or at booking@thegrand.ie and we will do our best to accommodate you.
What time is check-out at The Grand Hotel?
Check-out at The Grand Hotel is by 12:00 noon. We ask that all guests vacate their rooms by this time to allow our housekeeping team to prepare for arriving guests.
Does The Grand Hotel offer late check-out?
Yes, late check-out is available at The Grand Hotel, subject to availability. If you would like to extend your time with us, please let our reception team know at check-in so we can do our best to arrange this for you. Please note that additional charges will apply.
Can I store my luggage at The Grand Hotel?
Yes, we are happy to store your luggage before check-in and after check-out. Simply speak with a member of our reception team and they will take care of it for you, allowing you to make the most of your time in Malahide.
What is a pre-authorisation?
A pre-authorisation is a temporary hold placed on the available balance of the credit card provided at the time of booking. It is not a charge and no funds are debited from your account. It acts as a security guarantee to confirm that funds are available to cover your stay and any additional charges incurred.
How much will be pre-authorised on my card?
The pre-authorisation amount is based on the number of nights of your stay and any charges added to your room account during your visit. The exact amount will reflect the estimated total cost of your reservation.
Can a debit card be pre-authorised?
No, only credit cards can be pre-authorised at The Grand Hotel. Please ensure you have a valid credit card available when checking in.
When is my credit card pre-authorised?
Please note that The Grand Hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise your credit card up to 48 hours prior to your arrival date. Reservations linked to non-valid cards may be subject to automatic cancellation.
When is the pre-authorisation released?
Upon check-out, your room charges and any extras will be processed to your card and should appear on your statement within 3 working days. If you choose to settle your balance by cash or an alternative card, the original pre-authorisation will be cancelled. Release times vary depending on your card issuer and can take up to 15 working days to clear. Please note that the pre-authorisation is not held by the hotel. It is held by your own issuing bank and should be released automatically. If it has not been released after this period, please contact your card issuer directly.
Who manages the pre-authorisation process?

The Grand Hotel has complimentary on-site car parking available for hotel guests.
