What is the hotels credit card policy?
When making a booking, all guests are required to give credit card details to secure bookings. This card will be preauthorized 24 hours in advance of arrival. Debit cards used for guarantee purposes will be charged the first night cost at booking stage.
What payment methods are accepted?
The Grand Hotel accepts all major credit cards. Visa, Mastercard & American Express.
How do I make a group or multi-room booking?

What should I do if I have not received a booking confirmation?

Do the room prices include VAT?
Yes, all room prices displayed on our website are inclusive of all taxes and fees. VAT is at the rate of 13.5%
Is my booking guaranteed if I have not provided a credit card?
No, all reservations require credit card details to guarantee bookings. Provisional bookings will be held for an agreed period and then released if not secured with credit card details.
How do I make a cancellation or amendment to my booking?
If you would like to cancel or amend an existing booking, please contact our reservations team for further assistance on +353 1 845 0000 or email booking@thegrand.ie. For third party bookings, please contact the third party directly.
What is the cancellation policy at the Grand Hotel?
For bookings made directly with the hotel or on our own hotel website, our cancellation policy is 24 hours prior to arrival unless an advanced purchase rate is booked where the T&C are non cancellable & non refundable. Reservations which are cancelled less than 24 hours prior to the arrival date, will be subject to a non-arrival charge of one night’s accommodation. Non confirmed reservations will be cancelled. For group bookings, please refer to contracts issued. For third party bookings, please refer to their cancellations T&C’s
What does the no show policy entail?
No-show reservations will be charged one full night’s rate.

Does the Grand Hotel accommodate early check in?
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee an early check-in as it depends on the occupancy levels from the evening before. If a room is available upon your arrival, we will be sure to check you in or alternatively we can store your luggage until your room becomes available. If you expect to arrive earlier than 3.00pm to the Grand Hotel, we kindly ask that you inform our reservations team prior to arrival on +353 1 8450000 or email booking@thegrand.ie so we can note on your booking and do our best to accommodate your request.
What is a pre-authorisation?
A pre-authorisation is a temporary hold of a specific amount of the available balance on a credit or debit card that is provided upon booking. The pre-authorisation is not a charge and no funds have been debited from your account.
How much is a pre-authorisation?
The amount that we pre-authorise will depend on the amount of nights that you stay and the charges added to your room account throughout your stay.
Why is the credit card pre-authorised?
When you give us a credit/debit card, the pre-authorisation guarantees us that the funds are available to pay for any charges incurred.
Can I pre-authorise a debit card?
No, only credit cards can be pre-authorised.
Who is responsible for the pre-authorisation procedure?
Elavon are responsible for the maintenance and management of the pre-authorisation process. Should you have any queries regarding your pre-authorisation or any part of the process, they can be contacted on www.elavon.ie
When does the pre-authorisation get released from the credit card?
This varies dependent on your individual credit/debit card. Upon your check out your room charge and any extras will be charged to your card, this will appear on your credit card statement winthin 3 working days. However, if you choose to pay the balance with another credit card or choose cash, we will cancel the pre-authorisation and this can take up to 15 days to clear in your account.
The hotel is NOT charging your credit card. A pre-authorisation is a security guarantee for payment only. The pre-authorisation fund is not held by the hotel, the company who provide the credit card system or by the authorising bank. The pre-authorisation fund is held on your card by your own issuing bank. A pre-authorisation can be held on your card for a minimum of 5 to 15 working days. Pre-authorisation should be released by your issuing bank automatically, if not you will need to contact your home issuing bank.
Please note that the hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise your credit card 48 hours prior to arrival. Non-valid cards will result in automatic cancellation of the reservation.

Does the Grand Hotel accommodate late check out?
Yes, we can accommodate late check out for our guests. Late check out is subject to availability. Please advise us on check in if you would like to avail of this service. Please note additional charges will apply.
Can I leave my luggage at the hotel?
Yes, we provide luggage storage facilities before and after check-in & check-out. Please liaise with the reception team.

Do you have family rooms?
Yes, we have large families with two double beds ideal for up to four guests. We also have interconnecting rooms for families of up to 6 guests.
Do you provide cots/cribs in rooms?
Yes, we can provide cots/cribs for children up to two years of age. They must be pre-booked with our reservations team via +353 1 8450000 or booking@thegrand.ie before your arrival to the hotel.
Is there a baby-sitting service available?
We recommend the ‘Belgrave Agency’. For any childminding enquiries, please visit their website www.nanny.ie or call +353 (0)1 280 9341. As the agency will require additional personal information, we recommend guests to contact the Belgrave agency directly.
Do you offer a children’s menu?
Yes, we offer a dedicated children’s menu for our younger guests which is served in both the South Bank Bar and the Coast Restaurant.
