COVID-19 Information

As we continue to face the challenges that COVID-19 brings and how our way of life has changed dramatically over the past few months, we now need to adapt to the ‘’new normal’’. Our number one priority at this time is to ensure a safe, healthy and welcoming stay at the Grand Hotel for all our guests and team. Over the last number of weeks, we have been busy working on a detailed plan in line with the Government recommendations and restrictions to prepare for your arrival.

We would like to advise you on some of the modifications made to our procedures, services, health, and hygiene measures to give you peace of mind for your stay with us.

 

Health and Hygiene Measures

For our guest & team wellbeing we are adhering strictly to the Government, the Health Service Executive (HSE) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines, together with enhanced cleaning and hygiene measures in compliance with the industry experts, ECOLAB. The measures we are implementing include:

  • There is ongoing deep cleaning of all key touch points throughout the hotel i.e. door handles, lifts, and restrooms, etc.
  • We have placed floor markings throughout the hotel to assist with social distancing.
  • There is reminder COVID-19 informational signage throughout hotel.
  • We have increased number of hand sanitisers in public areas.
  • For your safety, when using lifts, guest numbers will be limited.
  • To limit contact, we have introduced protective screens, removed all inessential reading & promotional material from public areas and have reviewed bedroom amenities.
  • All our cleaning products are supplied by ECOLAB, which are the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.
  • Our hotel team are receiving ongoing briefings and training on enhanced operating & hygiene procedures.
  • We are providing our team with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Our team members may wear face masks where appropriate for your protection.

 

Procedures & Services

For your safety & wellbeing we have refined our hotel experience, from check-in procedures to bedroom servicing and dining.

 

Arrival and Check-in
  • Three days prior to your arrival, guests will receive a pre check in email for pre-registration and payment.
  • As part of the pre-registration, we will require a mobile telephone number & email address per guest in line with COVID-19 contact tracing guidelines.
  • As part of pre-registration, we would ask that all our guests’ pre-book their preferred breakfast & dinner time. 
  • As always where credit card payment applies, preauthorisation will be processed prior to arrival. To limit contact where possible, we are operating card only payments.
  • On arrival, guests will be requested to sanitise their hands as they enter the hotel at the sanitising stations provided.
  • In line with recommendations, we have added protective screens to our reception desk.
  • Guests temperature will be taken on arrival by the reception team and recorded. Please note guests displaying a temperature of 38°C+, will unfortunately not be allowed to check-in.
  • On arrival where pre-registration has been completed, our reception team will finalise check in by issuing bedroom keys. To limit contact, there will be no signing of registration cards.
  • Face masks & gloves are available at reception for guests if required.
  • Reception desk touch points are sanitised after each use.
Guest Bedrooms
  • To limit contact, bedrooms will not be serviced during guests stay.
  • There will be daily room drops of fresh towels. Any additional amenities required please contact reception.
  • To ensure your safety, we have removed some in-room amenities to limit touch points i.e. reading materials, note pads, pencils, glasses, tea/coffee facilities. 
  • All bedrooms will now include bottles of mineral water.
  • Our bedrooms are deep cleaned as per COVID-19 guidelines, with focus on all key touch points. All our bedding and towels are laundered at 70°C. Once the bedroom has been deep cleaned, it is inspected and approved by management before being sealed until your arrival.
  • Our cleaning products are supplied by ECOLAB, which are the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.
  • Guest bedrooms are left for a minimum of 24 hours after checking out prior to deep cleaning.
Public Areas
  • Our housekeeping team will deep clean all key touch points regularly i.e. door handles, lifts, and restrooms, etc.
  • In line with COVID-19 etiquette, please wash your hands on a regular basis and avail of the hand sanitisers in public areas.
  • To assist with social distancing, please follow all floor markings. 
  • We have temporarily modified some of our facilities to adhere to social distancing.
  • When using lifts, please follow signage which allows one guest or family at a time per lift.
  • To limit contact, all promotional material has been removed from public areas.
  • There is reminder COVID-19 informational signage throughout hotel.
Coast Restaurant
  • During this re-opening phase Coast Restaurant is open for breakfast only.
  • Breakfast will be served each morning in the Coast Restaurant from 7am-10am.
  • As part of pre-registration, we would ask that all our guests’ pre-book their preferred breakfast time. 
  • The seating in Coast restaurant has been modified to adhere to social distancing.
  • Service methods have been amended in line with Government recommendations.
  • Please advise of any dietary requirements prior to arrival.
Matt Ryan Bar
  • Matt Ryan Bar will be open from 12 noon till 4pm for light snacks, then for dinner from 4pm-9pm daily.
  • As part of pre-registration, we would ask that all our guests’ pre-book their preferred dinner time. 
  • The seating in the Matt Ryan Bar has been modified to adhere to social distancing.
  • Service methods have been amended in line with Government recommendations.
  • Reservations are recommended as availability is limited.
  • In line with Government recommendations, sitting times in the Matt Ryan Bar are limited to 105 minutes.
Leisure Centre
  • The Arena Health & Fitness Club is now reopen for guests & members
  • The facilities in the Arena Health & Fitness Club has been modified to adhere to social distancing.
  • All pool & gym sessions must be prebooked. To prebook your session, please click here.

 Check out
  • To further limit contact, guests’ invoice will be emailed the night prior to check out for approval. Should you have any queries, please contact reception prior to departure.
  • Incidental payments will be processed on departure with the final invoice emailed.
Our Team
  • Our dedicated COVID-19 officer will be available for any queries or concerns regarding COVID-19.
  • Our hotel team are receiving ongoing briefings and training on enhanced operating procedures and measures.
  • We are providing our team with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Our team members may wear face masks where appropriate for your protection.
  • All staff member will have their temperature taken prior to starting their working day. Should they display a temperature of 38°C+, they will not be permitted to work.

 

All the above procedures and measures have been implemented with the health and safety of our guests and staff in mind, as this is our number one priority.

We would ask you, as our guest to please adhere to the following in the interest of the health & safety of us all:

  • If you are feeling unwell, please do not travel.
  • If you have travelled outside of Ireland, it is the current Government guideline to self-isolate for 14 days
  • If at any stage during your stay you are feeling unwell or displaying symptoms of COVID-19, please self-isolate inside your bedroom, contact your GP or the HSE on 1850 24 1850 and advise reception.
