The Grand Canal Theatre is a 2111 capacity world class theatre in Dublin, Ireland which opened on 18 March 2010. Designed by Daniel Libeskind of New York and RHWL Architects of London, it is located in the Grand Canal Dock area and the concept of the theatre was created by Mike Adamson of Live Nation and the Docklands Development Authority as a touring theatre for Ballet, Opera, Musicals and Concerts.
Getting there from the Grand Hotel
DART (30 minutes)
From the Dart station in Malahide, 200m from the Hotel front door, go to Grand Canal Dock Station. Walk 2 minutes to the theatre.
BUS (35 minutes)
From outside the Hotel take the 42 or 32A to the city centre. From here you may walk accross the Liffey by Butt Bridge or the Samuel Beckett pedrestrian bridge. Join City Quay and turn left. Turn right onto Cardiff Lane and then left onto Hanover Street to reach the theatre.
CAR (40 minutes)
From the Hotel take the Coast Road or Malahide Road to the city centre. Cross the Liffey river at Butt Bridge, stay left and turn left onto City Quay. Turn right at Cardiff Lane, continue onto Macken Street. At the next junction turn right onto Ringsend Road, the underground car park for the theatre is just 20m on your left.
